The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine assured that the situation on the border of the Sumy region and the Kursk region of the Russian Federation is fully controlled by the Defense Forces of Ukraine. They denied information about the alleged advance of Russians into settlements in the Ukrainian region.
This is stated in a message from the General Staff on the Facebook social network.
"The information being spread on social networks regarding the advancement of Russian units deep into the territory of Sumy region is not true," the statement says.
At the same time, the General Staff noted that isolated Russian breakthroughs into Ukrainian settlements are promptly stopped by destruction thanks to coordinated actions and a defense system created in advance.
"Our defenders are successfully stopping all attempts by the invaders to gain a foothold in the Sumy region. The enemy is suffering significant losses in manpower. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking all necessary measures to strengthen our group of troops with technical means and reserves," the General Staff reported.
Ukrainian servicemen continue to hold the captured Russian territories.
They warned that the enemy continues to exert informational and psychological pressure and spread propaganda narratives. The goal of such actions is to discredit the military command and spread panic and despair among Ukrainians.
"We ask you to trust only official sources and verify information. Communications units and official spokespeople of the Armed Forces of Ukraine inform the public daily about the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the current situation in the areas of combat operations," the General Staff added.
As Apostrophe reported, Putin suggested that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters who are in the Kursk region lay down their arms and surrender.
