Ukrainians will have their lost mobile connection restored more quickly: the Rada supported the bill

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has supported a bill on land allocation for mobile operators. This will allow for faster repair of damage.

This was announced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning, leader of the Servant of the People party, Olena Shulyak .

According to her, now Ukrainians will have their lost mobile connection restored more quickly and access to the network will be improved.

"The adopted bill No. 9549 will allow faster construction of network base stations and restoration of damaged ones. More than 100,000 subscribers in remote areas will have improved access to communications and the network, and local budgets will receive additional financial resources from payment by operators of fees for the use of land plots," the MP explained.

At the same time, she recalled that the bill on accelerating the processes of land acquisition and access for the construction of new 4G network facilities was adopted in the first reading back in June 2024, and in the second - in August 2024.

However, after that - in October, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky gave suggestions for its revision. In December, the draft law began to be revised in accordance with them. The final changes concern, in particular, the rules and conditions for changing the purpose of land plots, as well as their alienation and conditions for use under the principle of easement.

"The adoption of these changes is a wartime requirement and a guarantee of the development of Ukraine's communications infrastructure. Moreover, Ukrainian business insisted on the adoption of this bill during joint working meetings," Shulyak said.

By the way, on December 30, 2024, Ukraine signed an agreement with Starlink and began implementing revolutionary Direct to Cell satellite communication in our country.
