The situation in the Avdiivka sector is difficult, but under control - Russian occupants are trying to advance to the positions of Ukrainian troops in small groups to gain a foothold in the "gray zone", but are being repelled by our fighters.
Ruslan Muzychuk, spokesman for the National Guard of Ukraine, told Apostrophe TV.
According to him, the occupation forces are conducting assault operations and trying to gain a foothold, considering the nature of the area.
"The enemy also conducts a large number of air attacks here. Over the last few days we have seen more than a hundred air strikes along the entire frontline, and a very large number of them usually come to the Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions in order to destroy fortifications of our defenders and create conditions where it is impossible to hold the defense," explained the spokesman.
In addition, the enemy is trying to reduce the "gray zone", that is, to bring their positions closer to the places where our defenders are holding the line, trying to break through our fortified positions. Nevertheless, Ukrainian soldiers manage to hold the front line.
"We can see that the enemy is trying to keep a fairly large number of personnel here, and even though it suffers heavy losses in manpower and equipment, by pulling up reserves, redeploying from other directions, the enemy is trying to replenish its losses in the Avdiivka sector quite actively," summarized Ruslan Muzychuk.
