Biden made a statement regarding the date of his meeting with Putin

U.S. President Joe Biden said on Tuesday, May 4, that he would like to hold his propsed summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin this June during Biden’s trip to Europe.

He said this in response to the National Post journalist's question whether he planned the meeting during a European tour.

That is my hope and expectation. We’re working on it,” Biden told reporters after a speech about the U.S. response to the coronavirus.

Biden plans to attend a Group of Seven summit in Cornwall, England, set for June 11-13, and then fly to Brussels to meet European Union leaders and attend a June 14 NATO summit.

It's worth noting that the leaders of th eUnited States and Russia have previously agreed to meet in a third country this summer.

As Apostrophe reported, Biden wants to discuss the stabilization of bilateral relations between Washington and Moscow with Putin. At the same time, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted that if Russia decides to act recklessly or aggressively, the U.S. will respond accordingly.
