By May 9, Russia plans to hold a number of information and advocacy events in Europe and the United States, including "immortal regiments" motorcycle races and workshops on making paper carnations.
The Kremlin's plans were reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The GUR notes how the Russian Federation is activating its network of influence agents on the eve of the so-called "Victory Day." The Kremlin's plans include the following:
- In Prague - a rally "For the restoration of relations with the Russian Federation" and the action "80th anniversary of liberation from fascism. We cannot have peace". On May 9, 2025, representatives of the organization will walk through the central streets of Prague with the aim of supposedly "honoring the victims" of World War II. A number of events throughout the country aimed at glorifying the "Red Army" have also been planned by the Czech communists.
- In Sofia, they plan to hold a propaganda campaign called "St. George's Ribbon".
- In Brussels, "the "Russian House" intends to sit at a round table "on the fight that the Belgians, Dutch and Luxembourgers, in solidarity and together with the peoples of Russia and other republics of the Soviet Union, are waging against the brown plague of the 20th century."
- in London - a theatrical recreation of the events of 1945.
- in Warsaw - the "Wall of Memory" campaign, organized by the "Russian House".
- In Bucharest, the Russian embassy is organizing a laying of flowers to the "unknown soldier." They want to use the public event for propaganda speeches. "Also in Romania, the Russians are trying to attract a wide audience, including children, to the campaign "Decorate your windows with symbols of victory." As part of this information campaign, they are spreading Soviet-Russian "victorious" motifs and symbols on social networks ," the GUR writes.
- They want to hold an international forum "Memory of the Victors" in Verona , Italy.
"In most European countries, a beneficial action for Russia, the "European Peace Project," is also planned for May 9, 2025, " Ukrainian intelligence summarizes.
In addition, the "immortal regiment" is also planned to be held in the suburbs of Washington (USA), Munich (Germany), Toronto (Canada), Belgrade (Serbia), Naples and Genoa (Italy), and other cities.
"In Toronto, Montreal and other major cities in Canada, Russian agents of influence, organized as a public organization called the "Immortal Regiment", intend to hold car and motorcycle races with Soviet-Russian symbols, thematic concerts, master classes on creating paper bouquets of carnations, broadcast Soviet-themed cartoons and films, and also take part in the musical "Immortal Regiment" organized by the aggressor state's TV channel "Russia 1", the GUR writes.
In this context, intelligence recalled that the Russian Federation is falsifying history, distorting facts about World War II, and creating and exploiting myths about "victory over fascism" in order to justify the war against Ukraine.
Previously, "Apostrophe" wrote about how the Russians held the "Immortal Regiment" rally in Washington. Ukrainians instead staged a protest.
