DPRK tests new tactical ballistic missile

North Korea has announced the test of a new tactical ballistic missile Hwasongpho-11Da-4.5 with super-large warhead.

This was reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The agency noted that the new type of missile is a tactical ballistic missile capable of carrying a 4.5 ton super-large warhead. As part of the tests, a missile equipped with a simulated heavy warhead was fired "to verify flight stability and hit accuracy" at a maximum range of 500 km and a minimum range of 90 km.

According to the DPRK Missile Administration, test launches of this missile will be carried out in July "to verify flight characteristics, hit accuracy and explosion power of super-large warhead at the medium range of 250km".
