The belt of Oleksandr Usyk, the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not have time to present to US President Donald Trump, is now in the American leader's private dining room along with other souvenirs.
Time writes about this.
It is noted that during his trip to Washington, Zelensky decided to bring a set of gifts.
Following the example of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who presented Trump with a gold pager as a symbol of the explosive devices that Israel used to destroy its enemies in Lebanon, the Ukrainian president brought the belt of world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Aides placed the belt on a table next to Zelensky so that he could take it at any time and present it to Trump in front of reporters during a joint briefing.
However, the conversation between the politicians went in a different direction and Zelensky was unable to present the gift.
"I don't know what's with the belt. Maybe it's still there," the Ukrainian leader answered a journalist when asked about the future fate of the championship belt.
It also states that in the confusion that arose after the two presidents argued, Zelensky left the belt on a table near the sofa. Later that day, after the Ukrainians left, a White House employee found the belt and took it to Trump's private dining room. So it now stands there with other souvenirs, the publication writes.
It should be recalled that Zelensky and Trump had a public argument in high tones. The Ukrainian President arrived in the United States on February 28 to sign an agreement on the development of Ukrainian minerals, but the signing was disrupted .
