Greenlandic tourism agency Tupilak Travel refused to host Usha Vance during her visit to the island after it was revealed that her husband, US Vice President J.D. Vance, would join her.
" This is impressive ," wrote Ukrainian journalist Tetyana Troshchynska.
Initially, the travel agency agreed to host Usa Vance and her children because it was declared as tourism. However, it was later revealed that White House National Security Advisor Volz, Energy Secretary Wright, and Vice President J.D. Vance were traveling with her. So, the travel agency canceled the visit.
" After careful consideration, we have informed the [American] consulate that we do not want her visit. We cannot agree with the main agenda and will not participate in the press conference that will, of course, accompany this visit... Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders ," the travel agency said in a statement.
" What a disgrace. And again unprecedented for America. This post is dedicated to those witnesses of simple decisions who believe that everything is decided by a simple suit ," the journalist noted.
Recall, Trump recently expressed his belief that the United States will acquire Greenland. And the island will be acquired, in particular, by military means. Trump's interest in Greenland is connected with the fact that he wants to expand America's spheres of influence in the Western Hemisphere .
