American journalist covering the war in Ukraine, Katie Livingston, reported that the wife of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Marianna Budanova, traveled to the United States of America in December 2024. And she did so to treat the effects of chemical poisoning.
Livingston wrote about this on the social network X , citing several sources.
The journalist says that Budanova was quietly taken to the United States in December 2024 - more than a year and a half after her poisoning, including with arsenic and mercury.
Budanov's wife recovered after treatment in 2023, but became seriously ill again at the end of 2024. Experts explain that this is a common pattern in such poisonings.
"American military doctors invited her to the United States for treatment after learning of her deteriorating condition. Modern treatment for heavy metal poisoning is limited in Ukraine," Livingston writes, citing sources.
And he adds that journalists from Bellingcat and Insider are working on an investigation into this poisoning.
As a reminder, as of December 5, 2023, Marianna Budanova, whose heavy metal poisoning became known on November 28, was under constant medical supervision. The officers of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in whose blood dangerous substances were also found, also felt satisfactory.
Previously, "Apostrophe" wrote that heavy metal poisoning was detected not only in Marianna Budanova, but also in other GUR employees .
