Criminal stole an unusual wallet from a Ukrainian woman in Belgium and burst into tears

Former Ukrainian correspondent for Agence France-Presse Olga Shylenko, who moved to Brussels, Belgium with her children, said that a wallet that was unusual for her age was stolen from her. A few days later, the criminal felt ashamed of the theft and returned the item to the police.

Shilenko shared this episode from her life on her Facebook page.

The journalist noted that her wallet was stolen a few days ago. The woman was standing in a store, paying for vegetables, and a man told her that the wallet was beautiful.

So a dialogue began between them.

"And I often hear that at my age you need to have something more serious (damn, this topic is very relevant these days).

So I was pleased, and I asked:

– Do you also love Hayao Miyazaki?

And the man replied:

– Of course!

"And then, when we were leaving, he pulled my Totoro out of his pocket, and I didn't notice. I realized it when I got home," said Shilenko.

On April 11, she received a call from the police station and asked:

– Is the blue wallet yours?

– Yes.

– Describe it accurately.

– Fluffy, ears, white belly, tail behind.

And then suddenly the police noticed that the thief had given the wallet back:

"You know, a man was here this morning. He said he stole your wallet, but he was very, very ashamed. He opened it, saw a "temporary protection" card for a Ukrainian woman, then public transport cards for two children and thirty euros. Then he sincerely apologized. He said he gave you twenty euros, brought the wallet and asked you to find it. And then he cried and said that he would never steal again. Well... Maybe at most if it was "Howl's Moving Castle" or "Princess Mononoke". But in general, no. So we let him go, but we are watching, watching...".
