Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov suggested that US President Donald Trump is perhaps the "only leader on Earth" who supports the Kremlin's justification for war. He was referring to Ukraine's rapprochement with NATO.
A Russian official said this in an interview with the American television company CBS.
He stated that Russia continues to have contacts with the US side regarding the war in Ukraine. He even indicated that there are allegedly several signs that everything is moving "in the right direction."
"First of all, because President Trump is perhaps the only leader on Earth who recognizes the need to deal with the root causes of this situation, he said that it was a huge mistake to draw Ukraine into NATO, and it was a mistake of the Biden administration, and he wants to correct it," Lavrov once again stated.
In the interview, he also indicated that the Russian Federation seems ready to conclude a peace agreement with Ukraine, but only wants to "adjust" some of the details of this agreement. However, he did not elaborate on what these "elements" were.
Recall, the day before, "Apostrophe" wrote that United States President Donald Trump set a deadline for concluding a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. The United States will withdraw from negotiations on a peaceful settlement if this is not done within two weeks.
