The General Services Administration acknowledges Biden's win and begins the formal transition of power to the newly-elected President, as was reported by CNN with a reference to a letter from Administrator Emily Murphy, the head of the General Services Administration (GSA), dated from Monday afternoon.
Trump allowed GSA officials to begin the process of formal transition. His team made this decision on its own, therefore admitting the election defeat. In particular, Trump instructed Administrator Murphy to do "all that is necessary" regarding the "initial protocols" of the power transition. Thus, on November 30, Biden will have access to all the resources.
“I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country. She has been harassed, threatened, and abused – and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA," Donald Trump stated on his official Twitter page.
However, he claimed that his team will strongly continue and keep up the good fight, believing they will prevail.
“Nevertheless, in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same," Trump reaffirmed.
Simultaneously, according to the New York Times, Yohannes Abraham, executive director of Biden's transition, said the start of the transition was a "needed step to begin tackling the challenges facing our nation, including getting the pandemic under control and our economy back on track."
