A possible decrease in U.S. aid to Ukraine could lead other non-democratic regimes to follow Russia's example and show aggression toward neighboring countries. For example, this could serve as a signal for China to take provocative actions in the Indo-Pacific.
This was stated at a briefing by Sabrina Singh, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, writes Guildhall.
She specified that China is "closely watching how the United States supports Ukraine" in the face of aggression from the Russian Federation, and if the Americans make a mistake, it could encourage China to provocations.
Singh added that if the US stops supporting Ukraine, Putin will not stop seeking to expand power and control toward NATO, and if he attacks a NATO ally, it will lead the US to directly intervene in the conflict.
Thus, as Singh notes, the United States must act responsibly and provide aid to Ukraine now or it "will have to face more serious consequences and pay a much higher price."
