Dozens of U.S. fighters were transferred to Poland by the decision of the European Command of the U.S. Armed Forces according to Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.
Thus, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak says the United States European Command (EUCOM) has deployed several dozen fighter jets to Poland as part of military exercises.
According to the minister, the U.S. is working on a rapid transfer of air forces in Europe using Polish airports.
“Today, several dozen F15 and F16 aircraft arrived. The European Command of the U.S. Armed Forces is practicing the rapid transfer of air forces in Europe using Polish airports, among other things. By training together, we are strengthening the security in our region," Mariusz Blaszczak said.
During the briefing on Monday, April 19, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the exercise was not related to the concentration of Russian military forces near the borders of Ukraine. He added that these are routine trainings.
The U.S. forces are present in Poland on a rotational basis.
