By the end of October 2021, German Defense Ministry will propose a plan for creation a rapid response military force of the European Union.
This was reported b yGerman Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer.
According to her, a rapid response military force in Europe is needed, as there are situations where NATO member countries have different interests.
However, as Annegret Crump-Karrenbauer assured, creating EU own rapid response military force does not mean distancing ifrom the United States.
"That doesn't mean we have to separate from the Americans. There may be situations where we have different interests, including within NATO. Therefore, we must be able to act on our own," said the head of the German Defense Ministry.
Annegret Crump-Karrenbauer also added that she was thinking about her resignation due to the situation in Afghanistan, but eventually the minister decided to "continue the fight" so that such incidents would never occur again.
