On Thursday, November 26, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Ambassador of Ukraine Igor Kyzym was handed a note of protest from the Foreign Ministry in which the Belarusian side strongly protested against "anti-Belarusian actions" near Belarusian diplomatic missions in Ukraine.
This was stated on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
Ukraine is required to ensure the security and defense of appropriate level for the Belorussian diplomatic mission.
“The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong protest against the ongoing anti-Belarusian campaign against the Belarusian Embassy in Ukraine and demanded that Ukraine ensure security of the diplomatic mission in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 18 April 1961,” the ministry said.
The ministry expressed its utmost concern over the lack of action of the Ukrainian appropriate authorities to stop provocations and the lack of proper response to the official requests of Belarus. It was noted that the illegal activity of radicals at the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Kiev poses a direct threat to its functioning, as well as to the safety of the embassy staff and their families. In addition, Belarusian diplomats drew attention to the rallies near the honorary consulate of the Republic of Belarus in Lviv, which were also called ‘provocations and acts of vandalism’ by the Belorussian side.
Reminding, that a monument to the victims of Alexander Lukashenko's regime was established in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Ukraine. Ukrainians also brought a big cross, and decorated the trees next to it with ribbons of the national white-red-white flag of Belarus.
According to "Apostrophe", on Monday, August 10, a single- night picket took place near the Belarusian Embassy in Kyiv in support of the protests that began in the country after the announcement of the preliminary results of the presidential election.
