The U.S. supported the sanctions imposed on 112, NewsOne and ZIK TV channels, as was reported in a statement of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine on Twitter.
"The US supports Flag of Ukraine efforts yesterday to counter Russia’s malign influence, in line with Flag of Ukraine law, in defence of its sovereignty & territorial integrity. We must all work together to prevent misinformation from being deployed as a weapon in an infowar against sovereign states," the statement read.
17 out of 19 members of the National Security and Defense Council voted for the imposition of sanctions against Kozak and Medvedchuk’s TV channels 112 Ukraine, NewsOne, ZIK. Speaker of Parliament Dmitry Razumkov abstained from voting.
