Ukraine severs diplomatic relations with Russia

Ukraine has cut all diplomatic ties with Russia after President Vladimir Putin authorized an all-out invasion of Ukraine by land, air, and sea. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the country would break diplomatic relations with Moscow in response to Russia’s invasion of its Western-backed neighbor.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine appealed to the President with such a proposal.

Cutting diplomatic relations means that both sides are deprived of the possibility of bilateral communication in the diplomatic sphere. Ukrainian and Russian diplomats stopped their activities. Diplomatic relations between countries are mediated by third countries.
