The UN has called on Ukraine and Russia to take immediate action to "de-escalate the conflict", which caused a storm of indignation on social networks.
Such a call was published on the Organization's page on the network X.
"Alarming escalation of hostilities, dozens of civilians killed in Ukraine and Russia. International humanitarian law prohibits indiscriminate attacks and attacks on civilian targets," the tweet states.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk called for immediate steps to de-escalate, ensure the protection of civilians and respect for international law.
At the same time, online users reproach the UN for inaction during almost two years of war in Ukraine and accuse it of being ineffective. In addition, readers wrote that it is impossible to compare the victim and the aggressor in the person of the Russian Federation, which attacked Ukraine.
