Orban tells how Trump plans to "end" the war in Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban met with former U.S. President Donald Trump and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries. Among the issues was the war in Ukraine, and Trump shared his own vision: to stop providing financial assistance to Ukraine, and then "the war will end."

Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke about this in an exclusive interview with M1, which was cited by Index and Magyar Nemzet.

One aspect of Orban's interview was his recent trip to the United States at the invitation of Donald Trump. In particular, here's how the current Hungarian Prime Minister spoke about Trump on air:

"He was the first president in a long time who did not start a war. We know from his presidency that he is a man of peace, and he does not hide his opinion even now, he clearly said that his goal is to create peace in the Russian-Ukrainian war, we also want nothing but peace and a ceasefire, it slowly ends the endless war as soon as possible."

Viktor Orban emphasized that despite the lack of detailed knowledge of European culture and history among Americans, they still understand that Hungary is a neighbor of Ukraine. In view of this, Orban made the following conclusion:

"So they know that we should be interested in peace, based on our natural national interests, and so they can count on us to create peace."

He pointed out that Trump already has a plan to end the war in Ukraine, noting that these plans largely match the Hungarian government's vision.

"Donald Trump is not yet the president of the United States, but his party in the American Congress is preventing the Democrats from investing in the war," the Prime Minister said.

Orban emphasized that Donald Trump's plan is actually based on financial support: he will not give "a single penny" for the Ukrainian-Russian war, and this should stop the war:

"He has a very clear vision that is hard to disagree with. He says the following: first, he will not give a single penny for the Ukrainian-Russian war. Therefore, the war will end, because it is obvious that Ukraine cannot get back on its feet. If the Americans, along with the Europeans, do not give money and weapons, the war will end."

He also believes that Europe will not be able to finance this war on its own, and "then this war will end." He also added that "if Europeans are afraid, they should pay or create an army."

Earlier, Biden appealed to Congress to provide aid to Ukraine.
