'Putin is sowing chaos': Biden addressed Congress regarding aid to Ukraine

On the night of Friday, March 8, President of the United States of America Joe Biden delivered a speech to the US Congress. His speech focused on the "State of the Union", noting in particular the special importance of supporting the bill providing international assistance to Ukraine for more than $60 billion, which Congress is blocking in the issue of adoption.

This was stated by the Head of the United States during the address to the U.S. Congress with a speech "State of the Union".

He emphasized the goal to wake up the Congress:

"We now face an unprecedented moment in the history of the Union. And so, my goal today is to wake up the Congress and alert the American people that these are not ordinary times."

Biden pointed out that freedom and democracy have come under attack both inside the U.S. and abroad. He emphasized that Putin will not stop:

"Russian leader Putin is on the march, invading Ukraine and sowing chaos across Europe and beyond. If anybody in this room thinks that Putin will stop in Ukraine, I assure you that will not."

Consequently, he remarked on more active help for Ukraine in fighting the enemy:

"Ukraine can stop Putin if we stand with Ukraine and provide the weapons it needs to defend itself."

At the same time, the American Head of state emphasized that Ukraine is not asking for American soldiers to help on the war front, but it needs weapons to defend itself.

He also noted that currently representatives of Congress are delaying this assistance. At issue is a bill to provide Ukraine with more than $60 billion. US President quoted his predecessor, Donald Trump:

"Now my predecessor, a former Republican president, tells Putin, quote 'Do whatever the hell you want.'" That's a quote, the former president actually said that bowing down the Russian leader. I think it's outrageous, it's dangerous and it's unacceptable."

However, the US President added that he would not give in to Putin's Russian aggression, which seeks to destroy the world order. Here he indicated the following:

"My message to President Putin, whom I have known for a long time, is simple: we will not walk away. We will not bow down, I will not bow down."

After pointing this out, Biden addressed Congress once again, remarking at a joint confrontation with Putin::

"I say this to Congress, we have to stand up to Putin", - said the Head of state, asking to send him for his signature a bipartisan bill with funding for the national security needs of countries, including Ukraine.

We will remind, that US Congress may start collecting signatures to put the bill on assistance to Ukraine to a vote in the House of Representatives, bypassing Speaker Mike Johnson.
