Zelensky will attend the Ukraine Recovery Conference and hold talks with Scholz

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will attend the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin and meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss defense support for Ukraine.

The Head of State wrote about this in Telegram.

According to the message, Zelensky has already arrived in Germany to join the Ukraine Recovery Conference and hold talks with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

He emphasized that the Conference should bring together governments for further assistance to Ukraine, in particular in issues of energy support in view of Russia's "air terror": "URC2024 will bring together governments, ten of which are at the level of Prime Ministers, companies and organizations to help Ukraine. In the face of Russia's air terror, urgent solutions for the Ukrainian energy sector will be our top priority."

As for the meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the President of Ukraine plans to discuss some critical aspects of assistance, including air defense and joint production of weapons:

"We will talk with Olaf Scholz about further defense support, development of the Ukrainian air defense system, and joint arms production. We will coordinate our positions on the eve of the Peace Summit, the European Council Summit and the NATO Summit."

Volodymyr Zelensky also announced his intention to meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Bundestag President Bärbel Bas, and is also scheduled to visit a base where Ukrainian servicemen are trained: "I will visit the military base where our military are undergoing training."
