Terrorist attacks in Ukraine, in particular acts of terrorism against the civilian population, are carried out by Russian state bodies, which is the basis for recognizing Russia as a terrorist state.
This was stated by a Member of the British Parliament, former Minister of Finance and Personnel Policy of Northern Ireland Sammy Wilson in a comment to Guildhall.
"I consider it obvious that Putin's army is bogged down in Ukraine, their losses are growing and they were ordered to start carrying out terrorist acts. The bombing of entire cities, hostage-taking, and their export to Russia cannot be called other than pure terrorism," he said.
"And since all this is carried out by the Russian state, I believe that Russia should be considered a terrorist state," summed up British MP Sammy Wilson.
Earlier, deputy of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Vilia Aleknaite said that the recognition by the governments of the United States and Great Britain of the state structures of Russia as terrorist organizations will be the basis for such recognition by other countries, in particular countries in Europe.
The recognition of Russia as a terrorist state was also supported by the Member of Parliament of Canada, member of the Houses of Commons and the National Defense Committee of Canada John McKay.
The German Bundestag, in turn, commenting on the activities of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, said that Putin's war crimes in Ukraine, in particular the hostage of a civil paramedic, make it possible to qualify the regime in power in Russia as a terrorist.
MEP, ex-commander of the Estonian Defense Forces Rigaud Terrace suggested that on the international level, in particular at the UN level, adiscussion should begin on the recognition of Russia as a terrorist state.
