The inauguration of the newly elected President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, might take place in June rather than May, as it was planned earlier.
As Alexander Danilyuk, Zelenskiy’s team member, informed “Obozrevatel”, there are already preliminary arrangements for the leaders of Ukraine’s partner countries to attend the inauguration.
“We are waiting on the Parliament’s decision regarding the inauguration day on May 14, as required by our legislation. It may be May 19, as requested by Vladimir Zelensky when addressing the Parliament, or it may be the beginning of June, which we would not want,” he said.
Danilyuk warned that world leaders cannot follow Verkhovna Rada’s decisions every day and adjust their calendars accordingly.
“It takes a certain time to invite them so that they can plan their arrival. Therefore, we are waiting for May 14, and we’ll plan everything else then,” he stated.
As "Apostrophe" reported earlier, Zelensky appealed to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, with a request to hold his inauguration on May 19.
