Ukraine confirmed two new COVID-19 cases. The country's government considers restricting air communication with Germany and France because of the pandemic, as reported by the press service of Ukraine's Ministry of Health.
A woman of retirement age from Zhytomyr region and a man from Chernivtsi region, whose wife had been in Italy for the past 14 days, have caught the virus.
At the moment, both patients have been isolated. They are undergoing symptomatic treatment. Their contacts are being identified.
Ukraine confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 2 in Chernivtsi region. The patient was a Ukrainian man who had recently returned home after a vacation in Italy. His condition is satisfactory now. This brings Ukraine to a total of three official coronavirus cases; however, the actual spread of the diseases remains unknown.
Ukraine has largely limited the work of schools, universities, cinemas, malls and other places of public gatherings. Numerous concerts, demonstrations, conferences, and competitions have been canceled. Ukraine is also considering closing the borders and canceling European flights in order to contain the virus.
