On Friday, April 9, Ankara said that Turkey was already informed by the United States that two of its warships will pass through Turkish straits to be deployed in the Black Sea until May 4, as Russia has bulked up its military forces on Ukraine’s eastern border. The information was reported by Reuters.
“A notice was sent to us 15 days ago via diplomatic channels that two U.S. warships would pass to the Black Sea in line with the Montreux Convention. The ships will remain in the Black Sea until May 4,” Turkey’s foreign ministry said.
Thus, the U.S. has complied with all the requirements set out in the Montreux Convention.
The situation in Donbas continues to escalate and the tensions between Ukraine and Russia are raising. The German Republic has already asked Russia to pull back its troops, but Moscow has accused Kyiv of provocations.
And several states have already expressed their support for Ukraine and condemned the actions of the Russian Federation. And Germany even directly appealed to the President of Russia to withdraw its troops from the Ukrainian borders.
As Apostrophe reported earlier, a veteran of the war in Donbas is convinced that there is no logic in Putin's actions.
