The Republic of China benefited from the sanctions against Russia. As a result, it became a cheap raw materials appendage of China.
This was told by orientalist Mikhail Yakubovich on the air of Apostrophe TV.
According to him, the situation is very close to paradoxical, because on the one hand - they annually almost double their economic relations, and on the other hand - so far the share of trade with Russia in the structure of Chinese foreign economic activity doesn't exceed 4-5%. That is, the PRC has several times more from cooperation with the European Union.
"Many Russian experts are beginning to express cautious doubts whether this cooperation is not one-sided - that is, there is already such a confession that Russia is becoming, in fact, a raw materials supplement to China. They not only sell gas there, they are trying to sell coal there in record numbers, and China promises to lift its ban on buying certain agricultural products," he explains.
This leaves Russians with a lot of questions. In particular, the promised abolition of visa regime didn't happened. Also, sources revealed that China doesn't consider Russia as a long-term partner at all.
"But in any case, it seems that China is becoming a beneficiary of sanctions against Russia," summarized Mikhail Yakubovich.
