Doctor raped patients in Zakarpattia Region: hundreds of intimate photos and videos were found in his phone

In Zakarpattia Region, a local doctor was suspected of committing sexual abuse against his patients. The physician has already been dismissed from his position and criminal proceedings have been opened.

This was reported by Zakarpatska Pravda.

Zakarpatska Pravda informs that the doctor's name is Yuriy Kovach. He was a physician at Irshava hospital, providing diagnostic services to patients.

During the visit, the doctor used medications that suppressed the patients' self-control, after which he began to commit sexual abuse. It is noted that in some cases these medications caused the patient to lose consciousness. The doctor recorded the sexual abuse on his mobile phone.

This situation became known in early February after he was exposed by another employee of the medical institution. It was then that the same doctor was dismissed from his position at the Irshava hospital. However, after one of the victims appealed to the police, criminal proceedings were opened against him and he was notified of suspicion under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 153.

The case file is currently being prepared for submission to the court. The article provides for imprisonment for up to seven years.

In particular, this is how lawyer Roman Kelemen commented on the situation on his Facebook page.

"...a doctor of Irshava hospital, providing medical services for diagnosis and treatment of patients of one of the departments, used medical drugs that deprived consciousness and suppressed self-control of patients and committed sexual abuse on them, filming his behavior with the patient on a phone camera".

The lawyer notes that in January alone, the doctor took 260 photos of sexual abuse of patients: "The doctor stored all these photos in his phone and put photos of naked men on the avatar of his contacts, and when patients called him, photos of the doctor's indecent behavior with the patient were displayed."

Roman Kelemen notes that the fact of criminal behavior with abuse of patients should be taken under public control to conduct an objective investigation and bring this doctor to a real measure of punishment with a lifetime ban on medical practice.
