What to do if WiFi does not work on your phone: useful life hacks

What to do if your phone can not connect to the Internet - three lifehacks that will definitely help you solve this problem.

"Apostrophe" will tell you what to do if WiFi does not work on the phone.

Often, we do not even think about how important the Internet is for us, until we encounter problems with the connection. What should you do if WiFi suddenly stops working on your phone?

Check your cables and connections

It may seem obvious, but checking your cables and connections should be the first step when troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues. Make sure all cables are connected securely and properly. Check the power cable connections to the modem and router, as well as the Ethernet connecting the modem and router. Sometimes even a slight displacement can cause a loss of connection.

Reboot devices

If checking the cables didn't help, try rebooting your smartphone, modem, and router. Rebooting can eliminate temporary glitches or slowdowns that can affect connectivity. To reboot your modem and router, unplug them for a few seconds and then plug them back in. To restart your phone, turn it off and then on again. After turning the devices back on, try connecting to Wi-Fi again.

Reset network settings

If the previous two methods failed, you may need to take a more drastic measure - resetting the network settings. Resetting network settings removes all of your phone's current network settings, including Wi-Fi settings, passwords, and VPN settings. This can be inconvenient, but it's often the only way to get your Wi-Fi working again.

To reset network settings:

  • go to your phone's settings menu,
  • select the "Connections" section
  • press "Reset network settings".
  • сonfirm the action and wait for the process to complete.

After resetting the network settings, you will need to reconnect to Wi-Fi by entering your password.

If none of the above methods helped to solve the Wi-Fi connection issue, the problem may be more serious. In this case, we recommend contacting your Internet service provider or service center for professional diagnostics.
