Since the beginning of full-scale hostilities, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed more than 500 religious buildings in Ukraine.
This information was released by the Press Center of the Strategic Communications Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The institution emphasizes that Russian troops leave only ruins behind. Since the beginning of full-scale hostilities, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed more than 500 religious buildings of Christians, Jews and Muslims in Ukraine.
The StratCom emphasized that on Easter it was decided to make a small selection of religious buildings, destroyed by the Russians, in different parts of Ukraine. The selection includes various churches, synagogues, and mosques in Donetsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Zhytomyr Regions that were unlucky enough to survive the massive attacks of the Russian Armed Forces.
In particular, during the fighting and shelling, the Russians destroyed or damaged:
- The Church of the Ascension of the OCU in the village of Dniprovske in the Kherson Region;
- Sunna mosque in Kharkiv;
- Intercession Cathedral of the UOC-MP in Zhytomyr Region;
- Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa;
- Sviatohirsk Lavra of the UOC-MP in Donetsk Region;
- a synagogue in Mariupol;
- Baptist church in Druzhkivka (Donetsk Region);
- The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (UGCC) in Verkhnekamianske (Donetsk Region).
