Gazprom eurobond prospectus warns of risks to Nord Stream 2

Russian gas producer Gazprom has acknowledged in a eurobond prospectus seen by Reuters on Tuesday that there are risks that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project may be suspended or scrapped due to challenges such as political pressure.

This was reported by Reuters on Tuesday, January 19.

“While implementing our major international projects, such as the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, we have faced and may continue to encounter risks associated with changes in political conditions in various regions related to such projects,” Gazprom said.“In exceptional circumstances, including owing to political pressure, such changes may result in a project being suspended or discontinued.”

Earlier, a cartoon of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Nord Stream 2 pipeline was published on the network, as Western leaders discussed the possibility of imposing sanctions against Russia because of the poisoning and imprisonment of Alexei Navalny.

As was previously reported by ‘Apostrophe’, the dismantling of the pipes through which Russia supplied gas to Ukraine, organized by Gazprom, is nothing but the direct destruction of any possibility of resumption of Russian gas transit through Ukraine in the future.
