Fleeing through Belarus: a deserter from the Russian army who fought in Ukraine was detained in Poland

A Russian soldier was detained in Poland after he crossed the Polish-Belarusian border - the deserter tried to escape from the Russian army.

This was reported by RMF FM radio.

It is noted that the detained Russian soldier is 41 years old. He was in civilian clothes and unarmed. However, Russian military documents were found on him, which also confirm that he participated in the war against Ukraine.

It is assumed that he fled to Poland through Belarus from the Ukrainian war front. In his attempts to get to the West, the Russian tried to use a migration channel that was organized by the regime of Alexander Lukashenko, according to RMF FM, which adds that it is mainly used by foreigners from the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.

The Polish edition of Gazeta Wyborcza also quoted Katarzyna Zdanowicz, a Spokeswoman for the Border Guard Service, who said:

"The Russian citizen was carrying valid military documents. The Border Guard Service is conducting administrative actions against the 41-year-old man. This is all I can say at the moment."

She also added: "Since the beginning of this year, Border Guard officers have already detected more than 10,000 attempts to illegally cross the border from Belarus to Poland. The main direction of the threat of illegal migration is concentrated on the section of the state border located within the Bialowieza Forest. In April of this year, an average of 174 people per day tried to illegally cross the border, mostly citizens of the Middle East and Africa. The foreigners came from 31 countries."

Earlier, we reported that Putin's Nepalese soldiers flee the battlefield en masse.
