The statement by the US President's special representative, Steve Witkoff, about the need for Russian recognition of the Ukrainian territories occupied by the Russian Federation reflects the official position of the United States. The United States is in favor of Ukraine's capitulation, as it will create a convenient precedent for a new world order.
Israeli analyst and blogger Yigal Levin wrote about this on Facebook.
Witkoff's statement does not surprise Tucker Carlson. The fact that Crimea and four regions of Ukraine should be given to Russia, and the constitution of Ukraine here, in Witkoff's opinion, is an obstacle. Moreover, Russia does not fully control these four regions, and there is no need to talk about them taking Kherson or Zaporizhia. I don't understand why everyone is surprised by this... This is not his personal opinion.
Back in early March, I wrote that the US wants to pull Russia out of this war and stop its maniacal and suicidal destruction of itself against Ukrainian defenses. The Russians already have total losses of over 900,000, and if the war is not frozen, they will exceed a million. And the main thing is to not lift sanctions while the war is going on and slowly establish its economic ties with the world in order to start saving the Russian economy.
But not just to pull Russia out of the war, but to pull it out with the loot and the captured - which Witkoff literally says in black and white. To give these lands to the Russians, and even with a bonus - including what they haven't yet captured.
People gasp and gasp, thinking that it's all ignorance, they say, they just don't know and believe the Russians. Like, if they knew, they definitely wouldn't be on Moscow's side. It's pure nonsense to think like that. The US has been on Moscow's side for 150 years and has constantly saved the Russians.
So today - first the Biden administration, frightened by Ukrainian resistance, and then the offensive of 2022, during which the regular Russian army began to crumble, rolling back from Kyiv, Kharkiv, losing the already captured Kherson, Izyum, Lyman, and now - the Trump administration, which wants to put an end to this entire theater of hostilities, securing its territorial conquests for Moscow.
Yes, the excitement is not at the level of 2022.
When the Americans say that the Russians will also have to accept that they will not get everything, there is no deceit here either. They say that it is not that you will not get Kyiv, Kharkiv or Odessa, or even something like the same Izyum. But you will have a consolation prize - Crimea and four regions.
Witkoff understands everything perfectly - as does Trump, Waltz, Rubio, and the same Kellogg, etc.
Ukraine's signing of an agreement on terms that are disadvantageous to it, undisguised sympathy and pity for Moscow, and the desire to save and preserve Russia along with what was looted - this is all a cold calculation, not their ignorance, lack of knowledge, or stupidity.
Earlier, Ukrainian director Iryna Tsylyk drew attention to the language aspect in Steve Witkoff's statement.
