The Kremlin is delighted with Trump's tariffs and expects the EU to die

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev supported US President Donald Trump's introduction of large-scale customs tariffs against the United States' trading partners.

" Trump has severely bent the global trading system, imposing tariffs against almost the entire world ," Medvedev wrote .

He believes the consequences will be global. Counter tariffs will be imposed on US goods. Old trade chains will be disrupted, but new ones will emerge.

" And what about us? Russia already hardly trades with America, as well as with the EU: almost the entire sanction turnover. But we are still developing - and at a quite decent pace: in the first quarter of 2025, growth will be about 3%. Therefore, there is no need to fuss. According to the immortal advice of Lao Tzu, it is worth sitting on the shore and waiting for the corpse of the enemy to swim past us. The corpse of the decomposing economy of the European Union, " the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation noted.

As Apostrophe reported, the US's introduction of new customs tariffs for all countries will not only have serious changes in world trade. It is likely that the Americans themselves will pay more in the first place.
