Biden's inauguration: online broadcast of the ceremony

On Wednesday, January 20, Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday in a ceremony that will keep with tradition while being unlike any other inauguration in U.S. history.

The live broadcast of the ceremony will be available on the Apostrophe website.

There will be pomp, ceremony, former presidents, congressional leaders, A-list performers, parades and tributes to the troops — but before a small, socially distanced audience in a city that has been locked down because of the dual threats of the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed over 400,000 people in the U.S., and possible domestic terrorism after the deadly violence at the U.S. Capitol.

The immediate swearing-in procedure will begin at 11:30 a.m. local time (18:30 Kyiv time).

After the oath, at 8:30 p.m. local time (03:30 p.m. Kyiv), a festive event called Celebrating America is planned - a big concert with Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and John Bon Jovi.

It is worth noting that the ceremony will be different from the usual and will be accompanied by unprecedented security measures.

The western wing of the Capitol, where the event will be held, will only have about 100 guests due to safety measures and coronavirus restrictions, but the ceremony itself is expected to be watched by millions around the world.

As "Apostrophe" reported, after the storming of the U.S. Congress building by Donald Trump's supporters, law enforcement agencies are preparing emergency security measures for the duration of Biden's inauguration.
