The US does not intend to recognize the results of the Russian "elections" in the occupied territories of Ukraine and will bring to justice all those involved in organizing this event.
This was stated by US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller.
"The United States condemns Russia's attempts to undermine Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence by holding elections in the occupied Ukrainian territories," Miller said.
Miller emphasized that Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson Regions, as well as Crimea, are the territories of Ukraine. And with this step, Moscow demonstrates disrespect for international law.
"The United States is using all available tools to bring to justice all those whose actions undermine the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence of free countries, including Ukraine - in particular those who will be Kremlin observers in the sham elections in the occupied parts of Ukraine," Miller said.
Earlier, "Apostrophe" reported that Ukraine's Parliament appealed to the governments and parliaments of the world to condemn Russia's so-called "presidential elections" in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
