The EU plans impose the COVID-19 certificates in May: the Czech Republic issued a loud statement

The introduction of digital vaccination passports, which was agreed upon during the virtual EU Summit, may take place in May this year.

Such a statement was made by the Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petržíček, as the local newspaper “Lidovky” has reported.

According to him, the European Commission will receive a proposal in this regard by March 17.

"Thus, the introduction of the vaccination passport can really take place in May. In any case, we need a functional solution for the summer travel," the Czech Foreign Minister said.

According to the Minister, such a document, which will work digitally, will facilitate travel around the EU. At the same time, he set an example of Israel, where the equivalent of vaccination passports has already come into force.

"The country already has a so-called digital green card system, Greece already wants to allow vaccinated Israel citizens to travel there on this basis," Tomasz Petržíček said.
