No Taurus, but a lot of much needed stuff: Germany announces new aid package for Ukraine

Despite the fact that Germany hesitates on providing Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles, it continues to provide other assistance - the country has announced a new package worth €500 million.

This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius at a press conference at the Ramstein meeting on Tuesday, "Tagesschau" reports.

According to him, Germany plans to continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian invaders and supply ammunition in the short term.

Thus, the announced package will include 10,000 artillery shells from the Bundeswehr warehouses, 100 armored infantry vehicles and 100 other vehicles.

It is worth noting that along with this aid, Ukraine has already received €7 billion in support since the beginning of the year.

As a reminder, according to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Ukraine now needs a sufficient amount of artillery ammunition, long-range rocket artillery and air defense systems rather than Taurus missiles.
