"Give us money": a scandal with convicts who fought in Ukraine erupts in Russia

Former convicts from the "Storm Z" detachments who fought against Ukraine and returned to Russia are not paid the promised money for injuries, nor their salaries.

About it writes one of Russian Telegram-channels.

"A loud scandal is gaining momentum - in near-war publics discuss the appeal of former convicts from the detachments "Storm Z", who fought against Ukraine and returned from the war, but now receive neither the promised payments for injuries, nor salaries", - stated in the message.

The appeal to Russian President was written by seven former prisoners. They said that they haven't received any documents on the removal of their criminal record and also have a problem with payments from the state. The convicts claim that during their participation in combat operations they didn't receive several types of payments at once - they were not paid their wages in full, they didn't receive combat pay, as well as payments for injuries.

"In closed veterans' publicks, former prisoners admit that the problem exists. Moreover, some of them blame the Ministry of Defense for the cuts in payments, while another part is convinced that the payments were made, but they were appropriated directly by the commanders of military units. Some of the military, who are related to the "Storm Z" units, say that the payments are formed depending on the complexity of performed tasks and the length of stay at the front. According to this logic, former prisoners should receive payments in full," writes the author.

It is noted that "hawkish" sources in the Kremlin are more categorical on this issue.

"The President cannot pardon all convicts. They then go home, kill or rob someone, and the media say that Putin pardoned them. We don't need such surprises before the elections. As for the money, they should be glad they're still alive. Want money - let them go back to war", - wrote in the public source.

Earlier, "Apostrophe" wrote that Russia is using "meat assault" tactics to fight the Ukrainian army.
