On Tuesday, May 7 in Kyiv, the newly elected President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Commissioner for neighborhood policy and enlargement of the European Union Johannes Hahn, the parties discussed the reforms in the country and the action plan for the settlement in Donbass.

The newly elected President assured the European representative that he would continue the efforts of his predecessor for the country's European integration.
"Our European choice is uncontested, and I being the guarantor of the Constitution must protect the path chosen by the citizens of Ukraine in the elections," he said.
Volodymyr Zelensky told the European Commissioner about the readiness to return the article on illegal enrichment to the legislation, that was earlier canceled in court.
"Our priority is not the fight against corruption, but the victory over it. The deregulation in the energy sector, the deoligarchisation in the media," he added.
The President-elect said that his dialogue with the Parliament on the European integration bills started. Johannes Hahn offered his assistance in negotiations on gas relations with Russia, in particular - on the extension of the contract for the transit of Russian gas at the end of 2019.
Also during the conversation, the parties raised the issue of settlement in Donbass, and according to Zelensky, his goal is to stop combat operations.
"Our goal is to stop the fire," Zelensky said.
According to "Apostrophe", on May 4, Ukraine's President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky came to the meeting with the chairmen of the parliamentary parties and offered to hold the inauguration on May 19.
