President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the deadly shelling of Ukrainian military by the militants in Donbass, which killed four soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
He places the following post on his Facebook page.
"The bread truce lasted 17 days. Today's incident is aimed at undermining not only this truce, but also the negotiation process as a whole. Ukraine is sincerely committed to peace. And our desire is constant. Today the whole world saw who does not want peace," Zelensky said.
The head of state called on the leaders of the countries participating in the Normandy format – French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin - to gather as soon as possible to resume negotiations.
"My sincere condolences to the families of the fallen heroes. We will not stop working on the end of hostilities and will not leave any attack on our military unanswered," the President said.
According to "Apostrophe", four Ukrainian soldiers of the marine corps, the death of which became known on Tuesday, August 6, died in Donbass, near Pavlopol, from a direct hit of a Russian shell.
