Russia deployed 80,000 troops to Bakhmut direction. Fighting is taking place along the entire front line.

Kharkiv and Luhansk Regions
On January 14, positional hostilities continued along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line. Russian and Ukrainian sources reported fighting near Sinkivka and Petropavlivka, southwest of Svatove near Makiivka, west of Kreminna near Terny and in the area of Serebryansky Forest and near Belogorivka. Ukrainian Ground Forces Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Volodymyr Fityo, said on January 13 that the cold weather in the Kupyansk-Kreminna area was affecting the actions of Ukrainian forces on this section of the front and suggested that Russian forces might surrender more often in this area due to the extreme weather conditions.
Donetsk Region
Russian and Ukrainian forces continued positional engagements on January 14 in the Siversk direction (north-east of Donetsk Region), but there were no confirmed changes to the front line in this area. Russian and Ukrainian sources claim that positional fighting continued near Verkhnokamyanske and Vesele. Russian blogger said on January 13 that Russian troops retreated from the outskirts of Spirne (12 km southeast of Siversk).
On January 14, Russian and Ukrainian troops continued hostilities near Bakhmut, but there were no confirmed changes to the front line in this area. Positional engagements continued west of Bakhmut near Khromove and southwest of Bakhmut near Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and New York (west of Horlivka). Positional fighting continued near Avdiivka on January 14, but no confirmed changes to the front line were recorded in this area.
"Southern Axis"
On January 14, Russian and Ukrainian forces continued positional fighting near the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Region border, but no confirmed changes to the front line were recorded in this area. Fighting continued south of Prechystivka, west of Staromayorske, south of Rivnopil and near Chervone (southwest of Velyka Novosilka).
Positional engagements continued near Kopani, Rabotyne, Novoprokopivka, Verbove and Novofedorivka. Ukrainian troops maintain positions on the eastern (left) bank of the Kherson Region amid positional fighting, but no confirmed changes to the front line in this area have been recorded.
