During his visit to Kyiv on May 14, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted that the US military aid package for Ukraine, which was previously supported by the US Congress, should arrive at the frontline soon.
This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
At a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the Secretary of State emphasised that the aid had already been agreed and was on its way:
"We admire your strength, your leadership and your resilience. We know that these are difficult times. And we also know that the aid has already been agreed upon and is on its way. It will arrive in Ukraine soon. And it will really help you to fight Russia's aggression on the battlefield."
In addition, Antony Blinken also stressed his confidence in Ukraine's victory on the battlefield: "The United States, like many of Ukraine's other partners, is confident that Ukraine will win on the battlefield."
Looking ahead, the American official noted that "what is also important is that over time, Ukraine will get back on its feet, both in terms of democracy and economy, and will be free and prosperous".
He believes that this will be the best response to Putin's aggression: "It will be the best thing for your future. And we in the United States really believe that. We see your courage and we believe that it will continue. We are committed to ensuring your success."
Earlier, we wrote that the US reacted to Shoigu's dismissal and explained Putin's plans.
