The father of Vladimir Putin's chief negotiator with the US, Kirill Dmitriev, Alexander Dmitriev, received a payment of UAH 38,998 from the Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2024.
This was reported to Apostrophe by the director of the institute, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykola Kuchuk.
This amount was accrued to Dmytriev for 112 days of vacation in 2020 and 2021.
The institute also added that Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences Oleksandr Dmytriev works at the Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering of the NAS of Ukraine in the 0.75% position of Chief Researcher of the Laboratory of Plant Immunity of the Department of Biophysics and Radiobiology.
Since Oleksandr Dmitriev participated in studying the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, he received a category II Chernobyl survivor certificate.
Since April 25, 2022, Oleksandr Dmytriev has been on leave at his own expense by agreement of the parties and extends it every 90 days (for the duration of martial law), as provided for in Part 4 of Article 12 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Organization of Labor Relations under Martial Law."
During the full-scale invasion, he co-authored with Ukrainian scientists 17 scientific publications in Ukrainian and foreign publications, including Q1-level journals.
"We are not aware of any publication by O.P. Dmitriev in Russian journals for the period starting from 2022 and his participation in events and organizations related to Russia. The Institute does not have any information about other financial and economic activities of O.P. Dmitriev," Mykola Kuchuk reported.
As Apostrophe previously reported, citing an investigation by the Federal Anti-Corruption Commission, Kirill Dmitriev, a close confidant of Putin, is buying up real estate abroad in the name of his 77-year-old father, Alexander Petrovich Dmitriev.
As investigators wrote, Professor Dmitriev owns offshore companies in several countries, helping his son circumvent sanctions.
According to preliminary information, Alexander Dmitriev himself lives in Turkey.
Meanwhile, as reported by Russian opposition media , the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), managed by Kirill Dmitriev, has suspended an internship and practice program for students that had been in operation for several years.
The organization has begun "internal checks" and is trying to find the "leak" through which the Anti-Corruption Foundation (AFC) released an investigation into the head of the RFPI, Kirill Dmitriev.
