Donald Trump's Ukraine statements on the New Year's Eve

On the New Year's Eve, the US President Donald Trump stated that France, Germany, and NATO should provide Ukraine with more financial assistance.

Speaking about Ukraine, President Trump addressed the European leaders.

"A very good woman, to be honest with you — Chancellor Merkel. But I said, “Where is Chancellor Merkel? Where is President Macron of France? Why aren’t they putting up money? Why is it always the United States?” he asserted.

According to Trump, Germany and France should invest more money in NATO's budget, as well as support Ukraine with financial assistance.

Moreover, the US President complimented Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky when addressing the issue of a scandalous July phone call.

"...which is absolutely a perfect, totally appropriate conversation with a very good man, a very good President — I hear he’s doing a great job. But a big reason he got elected was corruption. There’s tremendous corruption," Trump noted.
