The state budget spends up to 10,000 hryvnias per month on the maintenance of each Russian prisoner of war in the camp. In addition, they receive about 10 hryvnias a day for their work in the camp. POWs have access to medical treatment, including dental services. They also have personal time and the opportunity to satisfy their religious needs.
This is stated in the article by the editor-in-chief of "Apostrophe" Denys Popovych.
The life of prisoners of war in the camp has a strict schedule. Wake-up call is at 6 a.m., bedtime is at 10 p.m. Sleeping time can be interrupted by an air raid alert due to a massive missile attack. In such cases, prisoners of war are taken to a bomb shelter. The camp has separate rooms for sleeping and resting, a kitchen with a refrigerator, and a game room.
On weekdays, prisoners of war have to work. However, both on weekdays and weekends, they have personal time, the opportunity to attend religious services, visit the library, watch TV programs, and contact their families.
For almost two years of the camp's existence, none of the Russian relatives visited their husbands and sons, even though special programs exist. However, some relatives send money to a special account opened for each prisoner of war. The salary that Russians receive for performing work in the camp is also transferred there. With this money, they can buy some goods, such as tea, sweets, cigarettes, underwear, or food, which are sold in a special shop set up on the territory.
The wounded are hospitalized and treated in the hospital on the territory of the camp. The POWs even have a dental office and medical equipment, which is not available in every central district hospital.
There is a library in the camp. The prisoners of war have different literary tastes: from the book "Peter the Great" to the Bible and detective stories by Daria Dontsova. In addition to fiction books, there are textbooks on algebra and the history of Ukraine.
Earlier "Apostrophe" reported that hospital in Sumy and a gas pipeline in Odesa Region were among the targets of the Russian drones.
