Very dangerous directions: where Russians can move troops from Avdiivka

After Russians have succeeded in Avdiivka, their next goal from a military point of view may be Kupyansk. If the capture of Avdiivka was more of a political decision by the Kremlin, then they need Kupiansk for military reasons.

Former company Сommander of the "Aidar" battalion, scholar and publicist Yevhen Dykyi told about this on the air of Apostrophe TV.

He notes that after Russians captured Avdiivka, the question arose as to where they would relocate the group that stormed the city: ".. where are they going next?".

Dykyi notes: "At first glance, it was logical to assume that they would use these units in Kupyansk direction, but you can't get into the head of the Russian Chief of General Staff Gerasimov."

He adds that the goal of taking Kupyansk is very important for the occupants from a military point of view to improve logistics: "If the capture of Avdiivka was more of a political decision by the Kremlin, then they need Kupyansk for military reasons."

The former company Commander of the "Aidar" battalion points out that Russians also have important areas where they can use their forces from Avdiivka:

"First, our bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Krynky, which pose a threat to Crimea. Russians, taking advantage of the fact that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have a shortage of armored vehicles and people, which also needs to be recognized, would like to destroy these positions."

He also focuses on Zaporizhzhia direction, "...where we captured the first line of defense of the so-called "Surovikin line" last year and where we broke into the second line. That is, out of the entire "Surovikin line", we have captured one and a half parts of it. Russians would very much like to get it all back, as the Kremlin command fears that if we are now being supplied with shells and the Ukrainian Armed Forces start an offensive, it will be extremely difficult for the occupants to defend the remaining one and a half parts of the "Surovikin line."

Dykyi points to yesterday's events around Robotyno, where Russians have already intensified their activities. Therefore, it is likely that Zaporizhzhia direction may become a priority for the enemy after Avdiivka.

"Our bridgehead in Robotyne is now under pressure. And this is even without the units they (Russians) have not yet managed to move from Avdiivka," comments Yevhen Dykyi.

Earlier "Apostrophe" reported that Ukraine has enough reserves of shells for Air Defense systems, as there is an emergency stock of shells.
