Russian troops can capture the Baltic States in just 7 days, and NATO's response to the aggression will take 10 days.
Vadym Skibitsky, Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, said this in an interview with The Economist.
"The biggest unknown factor in the war is Europe. If Ukraine's neighbors do not find a way to further increase their defense production to help Ukraine, they will also end up in Russia's crosshairs,'' Skibitsky said.
He downplays the importance of Article 5, which deals with NATO's collective defense and even the presence of NATO troops in countries bordering Ukraine. This article, in his opinion, may prove to be of little practical importance.
"The Russians will capture the Baltic states in seven days. NATO's reaction time is ten days," Skibitsky said.
According to him, Ukraine's bravery and sacrifice have given Europe a multi-year head start, eliminating the immediate threat from Russia's airborne troops and marines, which once caused fear for at least a decade.
''We will continue the fight. We have no choice. We want to live. But the outcome of the war depends not only on us,'' Skibitsky summarized.
Earlier, Apostrophe wrote that Russians are intensifying their assault operations at the front, as they know that Ukraine is "on the brink" due to a lack of weapons and ammunition.
