161 Ukrainian children abducted by Russians were found in Germany

More than 150 Ukrainian children who were abducted and forcibly deported by Russians from the occupied territories have been found in Germany.

This was stated by the Head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vyhivskyi during a meeting in Berlin with the President of the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany Holger Münch, Apostrophe reports.

According to him, Ukrainian law enforcement officers, in cooperation with their colleagues in Germany, managed to establish the whereabouts of 161 children.

"Thanks to our cooperation with German law enforcement agencies in documenting the war crimes of the Russian Federation, namely the deportation and forced displacement of Ukrainian children, the whereabouts of 161 Ukrainian children, who were wanted as forcibly displaced to the temporarily occupied territories or deported to Russia and Belarus, have been identified in Germany," he said.

Vyhivskyi emphasized the problem of all war crimes committed by Russian invaders on the territory of Ukraine and recorded by the National Police of Ukraine. The Kyiv government is counting on the help of its partners in bringing Russian war criminals to justice, both before Ukrainian courts and courts of other countries. In addition, the military and political leadership plans to appeal to the International Criminal Court and Special Tribunals.

"We are interested in joint actions with our German partners both on a bilateral basis and under the auspices of Europol," said the Head of the National Police.

The parties discussed support from European partners in entering information on Russian war criminals into the Schengen Information System (SIS).
