Russian FSB had a "mole" in the Bundestag who disrupted aid to Ukraine: details of the investigation

Assistant to Bundestag MP from the "Alternative for Germany" party Eugen Schmidt, Vladimir Sergienko, regularly communicates with a handler from the Russian Federal Security Service, with whom he coordinates his anti-Ukrainian activities.

About this writes Der Spiegel.

The Assistant to MP was behind the lawsuit of a group of members of this party in the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany with a demand to declare illegal the supplies of German weapons to Ukraine without the Bundestag's approval.

Sergienko's handler is Russian FSB Colonel Ilya Vechtomov. In a commentary to Spiegel, Sergienko countered that he is an agent of Kremlin influence and called the allegation of his ties to Russia "groundless and unrelated to reality."

At the same time, Berlin prosecutor's office became interested in pro-Russian activist after he was found to have a Russian passport, which he had previously concealed. Therefore, according to Spiegel, Sergienko is going to be stripped of his acquired German citizenship. The AfG MP's assistant was limited access to the premises of the German parliament.

In recent months, Alternative for Germany has consistently been second in the ratings, reflecting the Germans' disappointment with the policies of the current coalition government led by Ollaf Scholz. Already three federal states have declared the party right-wing extremist.
